Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner, a couple in a WNBA free agency frenzy for 2025, are rumored to be seeking new teams next season. Analysts predict they may move on from the Connecticut Sun and potentially sign as a package deal.
Thomas, gearing up for the new 3-on-3 league with Unrivaled in Florida, remained tight-lipped about her free agency plans in an interview with NBC Sports’ “On Her Turf.” Predictions from Natalie Esquire and Terrika Foster-Brasby suggest Thomas might depart from Connecticut, with Foster-Brasby hinting that Bonner could follow her wherever she goes.
“Alyssa Thomas is a player you hate to play against but love to have on your team,” Foster-Brasby stated. “You can’t afford to lose her for nothing.”
“I believe it’s safe to assume that DeWanna and Alyssa will be a package deal. Personal and family considerations will also play a role in their decision-making,” Foster-Brasby added.
Thomas and Bonner, teammates since 2020 and engaged since 2023, are touted as a dynamic duo for any team looking to add them. Thomas, known for her versatility, and Bonner, a prolific scorer ranking fourth in WNBA’s all-time scoring list, could bring significant firepower to a new team.
