Amanda Anisimova’s stellar 2025 season gained another highlight in Beijing, as the 24-year-old American overcame Linda Noskova in three sets to capture the China Open title—her second WTA 1000 trophy of the year.

Amanda Anisimova crowned China Open champion

The world No. 4, already a finalist at both Wimbledon and the US Open this season, produced a rollercoaster performance in Sunday’s final before closing out the world No. 27 6-0 2-6 6-2 in one hour and 48 minutes.

The final opened in dramatic fashion, with Anisimova racing through the first set in only 23 minutes. Noskova, playing her first WTA 1000 final, collected only 12 points in the opener and was handed a dreaded bagel.

But the 20-year-old from the Czech Republic quickly regrouped, breaking immediately in the second set, with Anisimova suddenly racking up 17 unforced errors—after committing only four in the first set—Noskova snatched the set 6-2 to even the contest.

The deciding set, however, belonged to Anisimova. Rediscovering her rhythm, the third seed broke for a 4-2 lead with a blistering return game, and moments later sealed the title with a backhand winner down the line, collapsing to the court in celebration.

This triumph adds to Anisimova’s growing list of 2025 accomplishments. Earlier in the week, she ended Coco Gauff’s defense of the China Open crown in the semifinals, and back in February she lifted the Doha title—her first WTA 1000 success.

Despite falling short, Noskova’s run was a breakthrough moment. She became the youngest Czech player to reach a WTA 1000 final since the format’s introduction in 2009, saving three match points in her semifinal to get there. With the win, Anisimova joins an elite list of Americans who have lifted the Beijing trophy, following Serena Williams (2004, 2013) and Coco Gauff (2024).
