Legendary UFC fighter Georges St-Pierre will be in attendance later tonight (Sat., May 10, 2025) at UFC 315 to corner his fellow countryman, Aiemann Zahabi, but “GSP” is also willing to take part in the main event between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena by wrapping the belt around the winner’s waist.
I think we all know former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman wasn’t going to do it.
Saturday’s UFC 315 event will mark the first time in over 10 years that the promotion is returning to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Muhammad, who will be defending his UFC welterweight title for the very first time, will be putting a 10-fight win streak on the line against Della Maddalena, who has a perfect 7-0 UFC record. It will be another chance for Muhammad to prove he is in fact one of the best welterweight fighters of all time right below St-Pierre.
On Friday, St-Pierre joined UFC fans for a fun Q&A and was asked about the possibility of putting the UFC belt around the waist of the winner of Saturday’s headliner. GSP explained that he is solely focused on cornering Zahabi and getting a win over the legendary Jose Aldo, but after that the UFC great would be honored to be part of UFC 315’s main event.
“Of course,” said St-Pierre during his Friday Q&A (shown above via MMA Junkie). “If they want me to do it I’ll do it, but on Saturday I’m going to work as a cornerman. My priority is to be there for Aiemann Zahabi and he has an incredible task ahead fighting Jose Aldo.
“If everything goes according to plan and we get the W and they want me to do it, why not? It would be an honor.”
Muhammad, who is doing his best to create his own legacy inside of the Octagon and have everyone remember his name, is completely on board with the idea. In fact, the 36-year-old UFC champion would consider it a dream come true. Check it out below:

“That would be an honor,” said Muhammad. “Who we gotta talk to to do that? That would be amazing. That would be huge, right?
“You had The Rock do the ‘BMF.’ Freaking GSP doing the welterweight belt? That would honestly be a dream.”
