Americans in Zurich
Men’s 100 meters
Christian Coleman won the 100m in the DL final, in 9.97, the first race that he won in 2025 outdoors. Brandon Hicklin, USA was fifth in 10.0, Trayvon Bromell, USA was sixth in 10.14.
Men’s 200 meters
Noah Lyles, USA, won in 19.74 in the 200 meters. In second was Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo, who ran 19.76. Robert Gregory, USA, was 4th in 20.20. Kyree King, US, was sixth in 20.43.
Men’s 400 meters
Jacory Patterson ran his PB of 43.85 in the 400 meters. Vernon Norwood was third in 44.45. Due to Jacory’s win, Vernon will now race in Tokyo in the 400m flat. Christopher Bailey, USA, was fifth in 44.75.
Men’s 800 meters
Emmanuel Wanyonyi, KEN, the Olympic champion, won the 800m in 1:42.37. Bryce Hoppel was seventh in 1:43.78, and Josh Hoey was 8th in 1:44.25. Due to not winning the 800 meters, Josh will not race in Tokyo. He is ending his season with the NYRR Fifth Avenue Mile.
Men’s 1500 meters
Niels Laros, NED, won the 1,500m in a fast 3:29.30 with Yared Nuguse dropping back to seventh in 3:30.84, and not moving on to Tokyo due to Yared not winning the 1,500m in Zurich. Yared Nuguse will end his season running the NYRR Fifth Avenue Mile on September 7.
Men’s 3000m
One of the most warmly received races in Zurich was the win by France’s Jimmy Gressier, in 7:36.78 over Grant Fisher’s 7:36.81 in second.
Men’s 110m hurdles
Cordell Tinch won the 110m hurdles in Zurich in a blazing 12.92. Jamal Britt, US, was third in 13.21. Freddie Crittenden, US, was fifth in 13.23, and Trey Cunningham, US, was sixth in 13.32.
Men’s 400m hurdles
Karsten Warholm won the Zurich final in 46.70. CJ Allen, US, was the first American in fourth in 48.00. In sixth, Trevor Bassett, US, ran 48.29.
Men’s steeplechase
Frederick Ruppert, GER, won the Zurich race in 8:09.02, breaking a three-decade-old MR. Isaac Updike was sixth in the final in 8:10.47 one week after his 8:10.
Men’s high jump
Hamish Kerr won the HJ in 2.32m. Juvaugh Harrison was third in 2.25m, and Shelby McEwen was sixth in 2.13m.
Men’s pole vault
Mondo Duplantis won in 6.00m over Emmanouil Karalis in 6.00m. Sam Kendricks was third in 5.80m.
Men’s Long Jump
Simon Ehammer, SUI, won in 8.32m. Mattia Furlani was second in 8.30m, and Liam Adcock was third in 8.24m. Miltiadis Tentoglou, GRE, champion of everything, was last with a 7.66m.
Men’s Triple Jump
Andy Diaz Hernandez, ITA, won in 17.56m.
Joe Kovacs won in 22.46m. Kovacs is not going to Tokyo by his win in DL as US already has 4 shot putters. Payton Otterdahl is second in 22.07m, and Adrian Piperi was trouth in 21.84m.
Men’s Javelin
Julian Weber, GER, won the javelin in 91.51m, his second throw over 91 meters in this competition.
Men’s DiscusMykolas Alekna, LTU won the discus in 68.89m.
Womens’ 100 meters
Julian Alfred, Olympic champ, won in 10.76. jacious Sears, US was fifth in 10.96.
Women’s 200 metersBrittany Brown, US won the 200 meters in 22.13 and will now compete in Tokyo. Anavia Battle, already going to Tokyo was 4th in 22.25. Jenna Prandini was sixth in 22.70 and McKenzie Long, US was 8th in 22.72.
Women’s 400 meters
Salwa Eid Naser, BRN, was first in 48.70. Marileidy Paulino, DOM, was second in 49.23. Isabelle Whittacker was sixth in 49.99.
Women’s 800m
In her second NR of the year, Audrey Werro, SUI won in 1:55.91 with Georgia Hunter Bell second in 1:55.96. Addison Wiley, US was 8th in 1:59.14.
Women’s 1,500m
Nelly Chepchirchir, KEN won in an big upset in 3:56.99 was Jessica Hull, AUS, ran her legs off, finishing in an exhausted 3:57.02. Sinclaire Johnson, USA, was third in 3:57.80, Heather MacLean, USA was fifth in 3:59.43.
Women’s 3,000 meters
Fantaye Benlayeh won the 3,000m in 8:40.56. Josette Andrews, US was second in 8:40.95.
Women’s 100m hurdles
Ackera Nugetn, JAM, won in 12.30. Grace Stark was third in 12.44. Tonea Marshall, US, was sixth in 12.49, with Kenni Harrison in 8th in 12.72.

Femke Bol won in 52.18 MR. Emma Zapletalova, SVK, was second in NR of 53.18.
Women’s steeplechase
Faith Cherotich was winner in 8:57.04. Courtney Wayment, US was 4th in 9:14.91. Gabrielle Jennings was fifth in 9:15.56. Olivia Markezich, US was seventh in 9:22.20.
Women’s HJ
Nicola Olyslagers, AUS was first in 2.04m. Yaroslava Mahuchikh, UKR was second in 2.02m, and Morgan Lake was third in 2.00m-an amazing competition.
Women’s PV
Katie Moon won in 4.82, and took a shot at 4.89m and two good shots at 4.90m, due to some official snafus. Sandi Morris, US was second in 4.75m, with Emily Grove third in 4.75m.
Women’s Long Jump
Larissa Iapichino, ITA won in 6.93m. Malaika Mihambo, GER was second in 6.92m. Claire Bryant, US was fourth in 6.55m.
Women’s Triple Jump
Leyanis Perez Hernandez, CUB was winner in 14.91m. Jasmine Moore was sixth in 14.24m.
Women’s shot put
Jessica Schilder, NED, was first in 20.26m in a wierd one. Chase Jackson was second in 20.08, and Sarah Mitton was third in 19.99, after originally having been given the win in a 20.61m, that was later ruled a foul as Sarah did not properly leave the shot put ring.
Jaida Ross was 4th in 19.26m, Maggie Ewen was sixth in 18.45m.
Women’s Discus
Valarie Allman, USA, won in 69.18, winning by two plus meters.Cierra Jackson was fifth in 64.40m and Laulauga Tausaga, USA, was sixth in 63.51m.
Women’s Javelin
Eline Tzengko was first in 64.57m.
