Though the game is scheduled for May 17, ticket prices have skyrocketed, surpassing the season openers of most NBA teams in 2024.
As of now, the lowest ticket price starts at $238, with prices soaring up to $2,500, as reported by TickPick. This makes their matchup more expensive than any other NBA team’s season opener in 2024, except for the Boston Celtics.
Social media users were amazed by the high prices. ” $1000 for a family of 4 to go to a WNBA game…,” one fan commented. “Wow, that’s a steep price for Opening Night!” another expressed. “The Fever vs. Sky will definitely be a big game, but $271 is surprising compared to most NBA home openers.”
One fan likened the anticipation for their rivalry to an iconic NBA battle, stating, “Their version of Bird vs Magic and Jordan is on the way soon lol.”

This isn’t the first time Clark and Reese have made headlines with the steep costs of their matchups. Back in August, the median ticket prices for their games were $845, according to StubHub.
Last season, Clark and Reese faced off four times as rookies, with Clark’s Fever triumphing three times.
Clark also bested Reese in the race for Rookie of the Year, a decision solidified when Reese’s season ended due to a wrist injury.
One of their matchups drew a sell-out crowd of 17,000 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse last year, which is the venue for the Fever’s 2025 season opener.
The upcoming season will see new head coaches leading the teams, with Stephanie White at the helm of Clark’s team and Tyler Marsh coaching Reese’s team.
