Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are set to play as teammates in the WNBA All-Star game, as reported by ESPN. Both rookies have been named to the 12-player roster of Team WNBA and will face off against Team USA, the U.S. women’s national team, in the exhibition on Saturday (July 20) in Phoenix.
Reese and Clark, both top 10 picks in the 2024 WNBA Draft, will make history as the only rookies in the All-Stars game. Despite never being teammates before, the players expressed excitement for this opportunity to play alongside each other. Clark emphasized the importance of acknowledging all the talented women on the court, not just their storyline.
On a personal note, Angel Reese shared her emotional response to the All-Star news, expressing gratitude for the support she received in her journey to the league and her excitement to represent Chicago in Phoenix.
Joining Reese and Clark on Team WNBA are All-Stars Nneka Ogwumike, DeWanna Bonner, Brionna Jones, Allisha Gray, Dearica Hamby, Jonquel Jones, Kayla McBride, and Arike Ogunbowale. Team USA includes A’ja Wilson, Alyssa Thomas, Breanna Stewart, Brittney Griner, Chelsea Gray, Diana Taurasi, Jackie Young, Jewell Loyd, Kahleah Copper, Kelsey Plum, Napheesa Collier, and Sabrina Ionescu.
The 2024 WNBA All-Star event will take place at Footprint Center in Phoenix on Saturday (July 20) at 8 PM EST.
