Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been excelling in her first 29 games in the WNBA.

She has emerged as a dominant rebounder, grabbing 22 rebounds on Sunday during the Sky’s 77-75 loss to the Las Vegas Aces. This marked her third consecutive game with 20 or more rebounds.

The No. 7 overall draft pick has achieved a double-double in 22 games leading up to the Sky’s game against the Washington Mystics on Wednesday, matching Tina Charles’ rookie record for most games with a double-double in a season.

Reese’s impressive performance this season has intensified the competition between her and Caitlin Clark for the WNBA Rookie of the Year title.

While Clark is currently the front-runner for the award, Reese emphasized that her main focus is on helping the Sky win.

The Sky have lost three consecutive games since the WNBA resumed after the Olympics break. They currently hold the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

The rivalry between Reese and Clark from their college days has transitioned to the WNBA, with the two rookies facing off three times this season.
