Angel Reese drops 5-word cryptic message as she gears up for Unrivaled league debut

Angel Reese shared her thoughts as she gears up for the inaugural Unrivaled League, which is poised to become one of the most popular professional basketball leagues outside of the NBA and WNBA. With some of the biggest stars in women’s basketball set to take the court in this league, Unrivaled is expected to attract a lot of attention in its first season.

At the helm of the Rose Basketball Club is the 2024 Rookie of the Year runner-up and the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, who is one of the most popular players in the WNBA. She even earned an All-Star selection in her rookie year as a pro.

Prior to her debut in the league, Reese shared a cryptic message with fans in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday.

“Them mf tables always turn,” Reese said in her tweet.

While it’s unclear what Reese is referring to, the Chicago Sky star is set to lead the charge in a new era of women’s basketball with the launch of Unrivaled.

Over the weekend, Angel Reese gave fans a sneak peek at her Rose Basketball Club uniform. She took to X to showcase her new gear, sparking excitement among fans.

Reese’s post quickly went viral, amassing nearly 900,000 views within the first 24 hours. As expected, she will be sporting her signature No. 5 on her Unrivaled uniform.

Angel Reese will be playing alongside Chelsea Gray, Brittney Sykes, Kahleah Copper, Azura Stevens, and Lexie Hull, under the guidance of coach Nola Henry. The Rose Basketball Club will kick off Unrivaled’s opening day with a double-header in Miami, Florida on Jan. 17.

The Rose Basketball Club will face off against the Vinyl Basketball Club at 8:15 p.m. EST, following the match between Mist Basketball Club and Lunar Owls Basketball Club. All Unrivaled games will be streamed on MAX, with TNT holding the broadcasting rights for the league.

Unrivaled will feature a 3×3 format, with six players on each team. The league’s schedule will run from Jan 17 to March 17, culminating in the first Unrivaled Championship at 7:30 p.m. EST. Reese is expected to be one of the biggest attractions in Unrivaled, given her popularity in women’s basketball.
