Chicago Sky star Angel Reese was fined $200 during a WNBA game in June for disputing foul calls and receiving two technical fouls. Lonzo Ball of the Chicago Bulls offered to pay the fine on Reese’s behalf, but ended up over-paying significantly.
Reese confirmed that Ball did indeed pay the fine, and she explained how he overpaid for it.
“Ball gave me $2,000,” Reese said, revealing that the actual fine was only $200.
“I don’t know,” Ball responded.
Reese then shared that Ball contacted Teresa Weatherspoon, the former Sky head coach, to pay the fine. Ball expressed his support for Reese, noting that it was his first WNBA game.
Both Reese and Ball are standout athletes in Chicago sports. Ball has faced injury challenges but remains a reliable player, while Reese had a remarkable rookie season with impressive stats.
Reese, known for her success at LSU, maintains a strong fan base in Chicago and has a promising future in the WNBA.
Reese’s popularity extends beyond her basketball career, with her rivalry with Caitlin Clark drawing significant attention.
Ball has faced injury setbacks in recent seasons but has returned to help the Bulls in the current NBA season.
While Ball’s playing time has been limited due to adjustments, he aims to contribute significantly if he remains healthy.
Ball is focused on aiding the Bulls to improve their season and potentially avoiding trade scenarios.
Meanwhile, Reese is gearing up for the Unrivaled Basketball league starting in January.
