Angel Reese’s fans accused Indiana Fever supporters of purchasing fake followers for Kate Martin’s Unrivaled team. They claimed that Fever fans on X, previously Twitter, were backing Laces Basketball Club to oppose the Chicago Sky star.
One fan directly called out Fever fans and made accusations against them in a tweet.
Another fan supported the original post while criticizing Fever fans.
Several other fans joined in and shared similar opinions in the comments section of the post.
“Those aren’t fans those are haters that are obsessed with angel’s every move,” a fan tweeted.
“It’s weird how badly they hate the Sky and it’s fans. Yet they’re always curious as to who we might trade for or sign in FA,” another fan tweeted.
“Yet they claim she doesn’t matter, smh,” another fan tweeted.
One fan even posted a screenshot of the accounts following Laces BC’s Instagram handle to provide evidence for the claim.
“Damn that’s crazy that fever fans would do something unhinged and pathetic, sounds noooooothing like them,” another fan tweeted.
Reese will also be joining Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart’s 3×3 basketball club Unrivaled as part of the Rose Basketball Club.
Why did Angel Reese’s fans allege Fever fans helped Laces BC gain fake followers on their Instagram handle?
Angel Reese’s fans accused Fever supporters of aiding Laces BC in gaining fake followers after a post made by the Chicago Sky star on Jan. 6. Reese rallied her followers on X and asked them to support Rose BC’s Instagram handle after realizing her team was not the most followed Unrivaled team on Instagram.
The Chicago Sky star was one of the most popular WNBA players on Instagram with over four million followers before deactivating her account at the start of 2025. Reese’s post had a significant impact as Rose BC’s following surged and matched that of Laces BC.
Despite this, at the time of writing, Laces BC still held the lead with 25.9K followers compared to Rose BC’s 25.5K. When Reese’s fans discovered inactive accounts in Laces’ follower list, they pointed fingers at Fever fans due to the ongoing rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.
