Angel Reese is on the verge of a WNBA suspension.

The Indiana Fever took on the Chicago Sky on Sunday afternoon. Neither Reese nor Caitlin Clark were in action. The Fever topped the Sky, 93-78, to improve to 14-12 on the season.

Reese, the two-time WNBA All-Star, is on the verge of a suspension. She’s been hit with seven technical fouls. However, once she hits eight technical fouls, she’ll receive a one-game WNBA suspension.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Sky are working on getting some of Reese’s technical fouls reversed, which could give her some breathing room heading into the second half of the season.

Sky head coach Tyler Marsh spoke out about the situation on Sunday.

“We’ve done our work on our side to try to get a couple of those rescinded in the moment and beyond, and that’s up to the league’s discretion,” Marsh said. “I think, across the board, it’s part of the entertainment of the game. It’s hard to control the passion in the heat of the moment.”

Reese, even suspended for one game, would be a major blow to the Chicago Sky. She’s been playing very well as of late, averaging 13.8 points per game to go along with 12.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 steals. She made the WNBA All-Star Game for the second year in a row.

The Sky, meanwhile, have been struggling. They’re 7-18 on the season. Chicago will need to make some big moves in the season’s final months to make a playoff push.

Hopefully, for the Chicago Sky’s sake, they won’t lose Angel Reese for a game – or more – due to a WNBA suspension.
