Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, two stars of the Chicago Sky, were both selected for the WNBA’s All-Rookie Team, as announced by the league on Thursday.
This talented pair, who were both chosen in the first round of the 2024 WNBA Draft, had an immediate impact on the team and are the first set of Sky rookies to be named to the All-Rookie Team in the same season.
Joining them on the All-Rookie team is Caitlin Clark from the Indiana Fever, who was named the league’s Rookie of the Year, along with Rickea Jackson from the LA Sparks and Leonie Fiebich from the New York Liberty.
Reese made an impressive league-record of double-doubles in 15 consecutive games and grabbed at least 10 rebounds in 28 consecutive games.
She maintained a double-double average in her rookie season with 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game but had to end the season early due to a wrist injury that required surgery.
Cardoso, the third overall pick in the 2024 draft, had an average of 9.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in 32 games for the Sky. She achieved a career high of 22 points in a game against the Minnesota Lynx on Sept. 1 and recorded a career-best of five blocks against the Sparks on Sept. 6.
