The 2025 WNBA is now in full swing and the Chicago Sky have gotten off to a slow start. Following Tuesday night’s loss to the Phoenix Mercury by a final score of 94-89, Angel Reese and company have dropped to an 0-4 start.

Reese and the Sky entered the season hoping to take a big step in the right direction. That hasn’t been seen so far, but the season is still very young.

During the loss to the Mercury, Reese put together another double-double performance. She scored 13 points to go along with 15 rebounds, while shooting 3-for-9 from the floor. Reese also recorded three assists, three seals, and two blocks in the game.

Along with that performance came a major WNBA historical moment for Reese. As shared by FanDuel on X, Reese became the fastest player in league history to reach 500 points and 500 rebounds.

“ANGEL REESE MAKES HISTORY,” the post read. “The fastest player EVER to 500 points & 500 rebounds.”

She has not been receiving the same kind of hype as Caitlin Clark so far this season, but Reese has continued playing at a high level. Now, the Sky simply need to start winning basketball games.

Fans quickly took to the comments section of the post to share their reactions to Reese making her mark in the WNBA history book.

“500 rebs is insane this fast no cap,” one fan wrote.

Another fan chimed in, “Congratulations Angel Reese.”

“In 5 we trust,” a third fan commented.

A fourth fan’s comment read, “FASTEST PLAYER EVER….. EVER.”

Back in her rookie season last year, Reese played 34 games. She averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, while shooting 39.1 percent from floor. This year, she is averaging 10 points and 14 rebounds per game in four games.

As shared by @StatMamba on X, Reese also became the fastest player to reach 50 rebounds in a season. She has 56 through four games.

Chicago and Reese will have another chance to get their first win of the season on Thursday night when they play host to Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. The Sky badly need to figure out a way to pull out a victory.

That game is scheduled to tip off at 8 p.m. ET and will be available on Prime Video.
