The Chicago Sky secured a much-needed win on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Connecticut Sun to improve to 3-7 on the season and snap a three-game losing streak.

Second-year forward Angel Reese led the way with a historic performance, recording her first career triple-double and becoming the youngest forward in WNBA history to achieve the feat.

Reese finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals, and two blocks in 36 minutes of action. The former LSU star went 2-for-7 from the field, a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, and committed just two turnovers.

After the win, Reese delivered a strong message to Sky fans, urging them to “trust the process” as the team continues to find its rhythm following a 13-27 finish last season and a sluggish start to the current one.

“The Sky has done a great job having my back through everything,” Reese said. I love being here, 1 enjoy it. Obviously it has been a bumpy road and it hasn’t been easy, but I want everyone to trust the process.”

Fans reacted to Reese’s statement:

“She always keeps it positive and I love her for that. Always willing to put in the work,” a fan said.

Someone else added, “We shall see angel. Cause the process ain’t looking too good.”

Another fan posted, “yes haven’t seen what’s ahead for Angel. She is CHOSEN!”

“Start stacking great performances with great wins. Even against the Sun, you can build on that win,” one more fan commented.

Reese has quickly emerged as one of the brightest and most impactful young stars in the WNBA. While her stellar play hasn’t yet translated into many wins for the Sky, she has already been part of several historic moments.

Ten games into the season, Reese is averaging 10.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Though she’s faced challenges adjusting to first-year head coach Tyler Marsh’s system, she continues to grow into a more complete player.
