Basketball sensation Angel Reese has highlighted WNBA sharpshooters Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu as exemplary three-point specialists in the league.
At 27, Ionescu clinched her first championship with the New York Liberty by defeating the Minnesota Lynx in October.
Meanwhile, at just 22 years old, Reese and Clark transitioned from successful college careers to make their mark on professional basketball. The duo previously competed in the 2024 NCAA championship, where Reese’s LSU team triumphed over Clark’s impressive run at Iowa, setting records for scoring and assists.
During Reese’s ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast, the Chicago Sky forward didn’t hold back in lauding both Clark and Ionescu in a conversation with Funny Marco, a WNBA enthusiast and comedian. Marco eagerly sought Reese’s choices for the league’s top shooters.
Initially mentioning: “Between Caitlin, Diana Taurasi…”, Reese then discussed Marco’s suggestions, which included Breanna Stewart and Ionescu – names Reese agreed with. In terms of statistics from the last season, Clark led the way with an impressive 34.4% in three-point accuracy, edging out the experienced Taurasi at 33.3% and the close pursuit of Ionescu at 33.2%. Stewart, celebrated for her multiple championship victories, had her worst season in three-point shooting, managing just 29.5%.
Earlier in the year, Clark praised Reese’s skills, highlighting her prowess in offensive rebounding. Clark recalled Reese’s ability to dominate the boards during their college matchups, attributing it to an innate talent. Clark led the way for the Fever’s playoff berth, while Reese’s contributions were unable to lift the Sky from their disappointing 13-27 season.
