Nonetheless, the Sky (7-13) held on to their lead to secure the 87-81 upset victory at home, marking their first win against a team with a .500 or better record this season. Before Saturday, they were 0-10 in such games.
Chicago was led by guard Ariel Atkins, who scored a game-high 27 points, while forward Angel Reese and center Kamilla Cardoso each recorded double-doubles to anchor the frontcourt.

After the game, Reese spoke about what led to her and the team’s success.
“I just trust my work. I put the work in every single day. Being able to feel comfortable,” said Reese. “When I have teammates that put a lot of confidence in me … it makes my job easier.”
She followed up by speaking on what the win meant to the Sky, who only had six wins this season prior to Saturday.
“This one meant a lot to us. We can’t let anything else other than ourselves take us out of the game. I think we were super locked in today,” said Reese. “It was just fun. Everybody had a lot of fun tonight.”
