The Chicago Sky suffered their 27th defeat of the 2025 WNBA season, falling 94-84 to the Connecticut Sun at Wintrust Arena on Saturday.

Chicago has now dropped 13 of its last 15 games.

Connecticut led by as many as 21 points before the Sky started chipping away at their deficit in the second half. The Sun’s advantage shrank to just four points midway through the fourth quarter.

Rookie forward Aneesah Morrow, who made 12 three-pointers for the entire season before Saturday, connected from long range to make it a seven-point game with 4:36 left.

That halted some of Chicago’s momentum, and the home team was unable to put another big run together.

Sky star Angel Reese did at least post her 19th double-double to tie the Phoenix Mercury’s Alyssa Thomas and Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson for league lead. In addition, the Sun’s Tina Charles is the only other player in WNBA history with 45 double-doubles through their first two years.

Reese finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She added five assists.

Sky guard Kia Nurse caught fire in the fourth quarter and was the engine behind their comeback attempt. She came off the bench to score 19 points in a losing effort.

The trio of Charles, Bria Hartley and Marina Mabrey did the heavy lifting for Connecticut. Charles and Hartley had 23 points apiece, and Mabrey poured in 20. With 10 rebounds, Charles notched the 200th double-double of her legendary career.

The Sky have eight games left in the regular season. Their next contest is Monday night against the Las Vegas Aces, the first meeting between the teams this year.

Most fans in the Windy City are ready to turn the page to 2026, and it’s hard to blame them. By finishing strong, the Sky can at least lay a foundation for next season.
