Chicago Sky star Angel Reese reflected on her roots as she continued to show appreciation for the LSU Lady Tigers and her former teammates. Recently, she praised Tigers forward Aneesah Morrow, with whom she played during her senior year.
In a post on X, Angel Reese commended Aneesah’s prowess in the game, especially in her ability to grab rebounds consistently.
“Nees be snatching rebounds [so aggressively],” Reese shared on X. “Love that for her!”
Reese is also recognized for her rebounding skills, from her college days to her rookie year in the WNBA.
In a mock draft for the 2025 WNBA season, Morrow is projected to be the third overall pick and potentially join the Chicago Sky, reuniting her with Reese once again.
Reese and Morrow were teammates during the 2023-2024 college basketball season, where Reese’s senior leadership and Morrow’s transfer from DePaul University to LSU created a strong bond.
During her senior year, Angel Reese led women’s basketball in rebounding, averaging 13.4 rebounds per game. Her offensive prowess was also evident, with an average of 18.6 points per game, shooting 47.1% from the field and 72.6% from beyond the arc.
Presently, Aneesah Morrow is the top rebounder in college basketball for the 2024-2025 season, averaging 14 rebounds per game. Similar to Reese, Morrow is excelling on the offensive end, averaging 18.3 points per game.
Angel Reese Receives Support Over “Disrespectful” Podcast Comments
WNBA star Angel Reese was recently featured on the Club 520 Podcast hosted by former Atlanta Hawks player Jeff Teague. Sports broadcaster Chris Williams defended Reese, criticizing Teague and his team for their disrespectful remarks.
“Teague has been making derogatory comments about the WNBA since the 2024 season began. It wasn’t just the disrespect towards Angel; they also made inappropriate comments about Brittney Griner. They need to show more respect towards women athletes,” Williamson expressed.
Angel Reese is preparing for Unrivaled and will be playing for the Rose Basketball Club under the coaching of Nola Henry.
