CHICAGO — Chennedy Carter scored 19 points and Angel Reese secured her 14th straight double-double in the final moments, extending a WNBA record as the Chicago Sky defeated the Atlanta Dream 78-69 on Wednesday.
With Chicago leading 70-69, Carter forced a jump ball with 1:03 remaining. Following the play, Atlanta coach Tanisha Wright received a technical foul, but Dana Evans missed her first free throw of the season in 33 attempts.

Carter scored a jumper from the free-throw line to give Chicago a 72-69 lead after gaining possession. Following a missed shot by Atlanta, Carter assisted Reese for an easy basket under the hoop, extending the lead to five points with 25.8 seconds remaining.
Evans made two free throws after being fouled with 20.6 seconds left, extending Chicago’s lead. Marina Mabrey’s block led to a quick pass to Reese, who was fouled with 6.4 seconds remaining. Reese made her first attempt to secure the double-double.
Reese finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds for Chicago (9-12), surpassing Candace Parker for the longest double-double streak in WNBA history. Kamilla Cardoso also achieved a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Reese and Cardoso have recorded a double-double in the same game three times this season, setting a rookie duo record in WNBA history.

Allisha Gray scored 20 points for Atlanta (7-14), while Haley Jones and Naz Hillmon each added 12 points. The Dream played without Rhyne Howard, Jordin Canada, and Aerial Powers.
