Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese achieved a new WNBA milestone by setting a record for consecutive double-doubles with her 13th straight game in Sunday’s 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm.
Reese, who is in close competition with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark for the WNBA Rookie of the Year title, scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds on Sunday to continue her impressive season. Her performance surpassed Candace Parker’s previous record of 12 consecutive double-double games from 2009 to 2010.
As the WNBA All-Star and Olympic breaks approach, Reese and the Sky aim to improve on their 8-12 record in hopes of securing a playoff spot later in the season.
If they reach the postseason, Reese is expected to play a central role. With an average of 13.9 points and 11.7 rebounds on 41.0% shooting leading up to Sunday’s game against Seattle, she has established herself as one of the top post players in the league with more potential yet to be unlocked.
