Angel Reese’s impressive streak of double-doubles has come to an end.
In the Chicago Sky’s 81-67 loss to the New York Liberty in Chicago on Sunday, Reese scored eight points and grabbed 16 rebounds, falling just two points short of her 16th consecutive double-double. Her 15-game streak had set a new record, surpassing Candace Parker’s 12-game streak from 2009 to 2010.
Reese had a chance to extend her streak in the final 20 seconds of the game. The rookie tried to drive to the basket but was swarmed by four Liberty defenders, preventing her from scoring. Instead, she passed the ball to a teammate and did not have another shot opportunity.
