ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Mexico’s Road Warrior is prepared to defend his title on enemy territory once again.

Venado Lopez (30-2, 17 KOs) will defend his IBF featherweight world championship against Angelo Leo (24-1, 11 KOs) on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Tingley Coliseum in Leo’s hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lopez, who won his world title by upsetting Josh Warrington in Leeds, England, followed it up with a knockout victory over Michael Conlan in Belfast. Lindolfo Delgado (20-0, 15 KOs) and Bryan Flores (26-0-1, 15 KOs) will face off in a 10-round junior welterweight co-feature in an all-Mexican showdown.

The event will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN, ESPN Deportes & ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. Undercard action will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+ starting at 5:50 p.m. ET/2:50 p.m. PT. The undercard includes Albuquerque native Matthew Greigo (14-0, 10 KOs) facing late replacement opponent Gilberto Mendoza (23-18-4, 11 KOs) in an eight-round rematch at flyweight.

Junior middleweight contender Vito Mielnicki Jr. (18-1, 12 KOs) will make his Top Rank debut in a 10-round bout against Laszlo Toth (32-8-2, 20 KOs).

Tickets for the event, promoted by Top Rank in association with Legacy Boxing Promotions, are available on Etix.com.

Here are some quotes from the fighters at Thursday’s press conference:

Venado Lopez: “I’m always ready to go wherever I’m needed. It doesn’t matter where the fight is, I will always do my best and return home as a champion.”

Angelo Leo: “Fighting in my hometown for a title shot means everything to me. I was focused on winning in my last fight and now I’m prepared for a tough battle against Lopez.”

Lindolfo Delgado: “I always strive to do my best in the ring. I work hard in training and look to improve with each fight. This camp has been no different.”

Bryan Flores: “I feel blessed and confident going into this fight. It will be a tough match against Lindolfo, but I’m ready for the challenge and aiming for victory.”

Matthew Griego: “It’s a dream come true to be fighting on this card. I plan to put on a show and make an impact in the ring.”

Vito Mielnicki Jr.: “Being on this platform is a dream come true for me. I will take advantage of this opportunity and continue to grow in my boxing career.”
