A’ja Wilson is having an unprecedented season in WNBA history.
The Las Vegas Aces standout broke the all-time WNBA single-season scoring record on Wednesday night, surpassing Jewell Loyd by sinking a mid-range jumper in the second quarter.
However, the WNBA League Pass broadcast failed to acknowledge this historic moment, with the Indiana Fever’s announcers casually overlooking Wilson’s achievement.
The broadcast did acknowledge Wilson’s pursuit of the record in the first quarter when she scored the Aces’ initial 10 points, but they missed the historic moment.
Nevertheless, the WNBA community recognized Wilson’s accomplishment, with her former coach Dawn Staley congratulating her on social media.
Wilson, a former South Carolina player under Staley, is currently dominating the WNBA with a strong chance of winning her third MVP award this season.
Fans and colleagues alike joined in praising Wilson for her outstanding achievement.
Wilson scored 27 points in the Aces’ victory and still has two regular-season games remaining to further solidify her record.
