Armadale Thistle have taken the lead in the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One after securing a 4-2 victory over St Mirren in Paisley.
Although Megan Murray initially put St Mirren ahead, Katie Hay, who had just been named SWFL Player of the Year at the Scottish Women’s Football awards, scored two goals to help Armadale Thistle secure the win. Katie MacGregor and Khya McGurk also found the back of the net for the team from West Lothian.
Bonnyrigg Rose dominated the second half in Dumfries, defeating Queen of the South 4-0 to remain tied on points with Armadale Thistle, pushing St Mirren down to third place.
Giffnock SC claimed their first victory of the season with a 2-1 win over Edinburgh Caledonia, while Inverurie Locos fought back from a 2-1 deficit against Dunipace to win 5-2 at home. The matchup between Kilwinning and Dundee West was abandoned after 60 minutes.
In the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship, East Fife secured a narrow victory over Dryburgh Athletic thanks to a late goal from Harriet Anderson.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle returned to winning form with a 3-0 win over Westdyke, Falkirk defeated Stirling University 1-0, and Renfrew Ladies emerged victorious with a 2-0 win over Glasgow Girls and Women, courtesy of a first-half double from Becky Downs.
Morton delivered a dominant performance against bottom-placed Hutchison Vale, scoring eight goals without conceding any.
