PlayStation Studio Team Asobi today released Astro Bot exclusively for PS5. The journey spanning more than 50 planets has received rave reviews on Metacritic. The detailed design of the worlds and the clever game mechanics make the adventure game an experience that goes far beyond typical platform games.
In Astro Bot, we once again take on the role of the charming robo-hero Astro. When his PS5 mothership is destroyed, he and his crew are scattered to different galaxies. Now it’s up to us to rescue the crew and repair the mothership.
The new adventure game from Team Asobi is winning the hearts of the enthusiastic trade press in several ways. On the one hand, it combines nostalgic gameplay with modern technology. On the other hand, the lovingly designed levels and characters will put you in a good mood. IGN sums it up aptly with the following words:
“Astro’s strongest weapon, however, is its charm: this game is so uncompromisingly light-hearted, cheerful and light-footed that it disarms even the most hardened cynics.”
The reviews on Metacritic emphasize the versatile use of the DualSense controller. The haptic feedback and soundscapes such as the crunching of snow or the banging of a hammer ensure that the game world feels more real than ever before.
