WNBA Coaches and Executives

Becky Hammon – Las Vegas Aces head coach

Hammon was in attendance watching four members of her 2025 championship roster: NaLyssa Smith, Kierstan Bell, Aaliyah Nye, and Kiah Stokes.

 

Tyler Marsh – Chicago Sky head coach

Marsh was spotted courtside as AU players continued to draw attention from leadership across the WNBA.

Morgan Tuck – Connecticut Sun GM and WNBA champion

Tuck watched 2025 Sun players Tina Charles, Bria Hartley, and Aneesah Morrow, along with AU coach Chaz Franklin, who also serves as an head of Player Development in Connecticut.

Sonia Raman — Seattle Storm head coach

Raman made a visit to take in the action and check out the talent on court during AU competition.

Stephanie White, Amber Cox, Ebony Armstrong – Indiana Fever

Fever General Manager Amber Cox attended alongside Fever head coach Stephanie White and Associate Vice President Ebony Armstrong to watch several players who spent time with Indiana last season, including Odyssey Sims, Bree Hall, Shey Peddy, Brianna Turner, Aerial Powers, as well as Sydney Colson who made her broadcast debut in AU this season.

 

Brandie Poole and Camryn Brown – Atlanta Dream assistant coaches

The Dream assistants were in the building supporting 2025 rookie Te-Hina Paopao.

College Coaches and Programs

Vic Schaefer – Texas women’s basketball head coach

Schaefer spent time in the broadcast booth with Sheryl Swoopes and Cindy Brunson while taking in the AU action.

 

Shea Ralph – Vanderbilt women’s basketball head coach

Ralph attended with members of the Commodores program, continuing to support the growth of women’s basketball in Nashville.

Kenny Brooks – Kentucky women’s basketball head coach

Brooks sat courtside alongside WNBA Hall of Famer Ticha Penicheiro while supporting players competing in Nashville.

Kristy Curry – Alabama women’s basketball head coach

Curry and members of the Alabama program were in attendance supporting former Crimson Tide standouts Sarah Ashlee Barker and Aaliyah Nye.

 

Athletes in Attendance

Shawn Johnson – Olympic gold medalist

Four-time Olympic medalist Shawn Johnson took advantage of AU’s return to her home city of Nashville, adding to the list of decorated athletes who stopped by this season.

Maya Brady – UCLA star and AUSL champion with the Talons

Brady attended alongside her mother, Maureen, and later joined Sydney Colson in the broadcast booth during the weekend’s competition.

Lolo Jones – Olympian

Three time Olympian and two-time indoor track World Champion Lolo Jones was in attendance during Week Four, and was a special guest on the broadcast during The Half Show. 

Jackie Young – Las Vegas Aces guard and 2025 WNBA champion

Young was in Nashville to support teammate Kierstan Bell, sitting courtside after watching her compete during the weekend’s AU games.

Maya Caldwell – Atlanta Dream guard and 2025 AU fourth-place finisher

Caldwell returned to AU competition to reconnect with former teammates and familiar faces while taking in the action courtside.

Ticha Penicheiro – WNBA Hall of Famer

Penicheiro, who played 12 seasons in the WNBA, was courtside in Nashville during AU competition.

Tennessee Titans players

Titans players returned the favor after AU athletes attended a Titans game earlier in the NFL season.

Freddie O’Connell – Mayor of Nashville

O’Connell visited Nashville Municipal Auditorium to welcome AU Pro Basketball to the city.
