Formula 1’s rising stars, Mercedes’ Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Haas’ Oliver Bearman, will make a surprise appearance at the Japanese Super Formula Championship’s winter test at Suzuka Circuit. Both drivers will get behind the wheel of the Dallara SF23 on Friday, the final day of the test reserved for rookie drivers.
Bearman will drive the No.7 car for KCMG, partnering with Esteban Ocon at Haas in the upcoming season. On the other hand, Antonelli will be driving the No.14 car for Rookie Racing, the team founded by Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda.
Among the other drivers participating in the test is former Nissan Formula E driver Sacha Fenestraz, who will drive for TOM’S Racing. Additionally, there are 14 rookie candidates, including F2 alumni Juan Manuel Correa and James Hedley, who will also have testing opportunities at Suzuka.
The test sessions will feature a mix of experienced drivers and newcomers, with various teams giving promising talents a chance to showcase their skills. Fans can catch all the action on the official Super Formula streaming service SFgo.
