IBF USA Heavyweight champion Brandon ‘OJ Bam’ Moore (18-1, 10 KOs) won a technical decision over the much shorter Stanley ‘The Black Shogun’ Wright (14-1, 11 KOs) after a cut stopped the fight that happened in the third round due to a clash of heads with a minute remaining in the fifth round on Friday night at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York

In the first round, with a 6” height advantage, Moore used his jab to control the round. In the second round, a four-punch combination in the final seconds dropped Wright on his back for an 8-count from Referee Mark Nelson, who could have stopped the fight the way Wright’s condition was upon rising. In the third round, Moore suffered a cut on his right eyelid due to a clash of heads, and the ring physician was called in to check. Moore still controlled the round.

In the fourth round, Wright continued with hands held high, coming forward with few punches being thrown, as Moore would usually pull him into a clinch after landing a punch. In the fifth round, with more wrestling, Referee Nelson took Moore to the corner, where the ring physician called a halt in one sloppy fight.

Scores were 49-45, 50-44, and 50-44.

Lightweight Joshua James ‘Double J’ Pagan (13-0, 4 KOs) easily defeated James Bernadin ( 13-3-1, 6 KOs) by a 10-round unanimous decision.

In the first round, Pagan did more in a little action round until the final minute when Bernadin landed a right on the chin, getting the attention of Pagan. In the third through the fifth rounds, the taller Pagan continues to outland mostly with his jab.

In the seventh round, Bernadin finally went on the attack, though short-lived, before Pagan once again outworked him the rest of the way, for the most part. In the eighth round, Bernadin rocked Pagan with a right on the chin and followed with a flurry, but once again, he stopped throwing enough punches. He threw Pagan to the canvas in the final minute out of frustration.

In the ninth round, Pagan continued outworking Bernadin until the final minute, when a Bernadin right drove Pagan into a corner, being held up due to the ropes, that referee Mark Nelson could have called a knockdown. In the tenth and final round, it continued to be Pagan’s round until a right from Bernadin landed on the chin with a minute left, but again failed to follow up, knowing he needed a knockout to win.

Scores were 98-92, 99-91, and 99-91.

Super welterweight Joseph ‘Sug’ Hicks, Jr. (12-1, 8 KOs) lost a 10-round majority decision to Wendy Toussaint (17-3, 7 KOs) by 10 round unanimous decision, for the vacant IBF USBA Super welterweight title. Winning the first four rounds did it, with the rest of the fight being close.

In the first round, Toussaint went right after Hicks putting him on the defense. There were several fouls that referee Ricky Gonzalez didn’t warn him with like when he had Hicks halfway through the ropes in the final minute hitting him in the back.

In the middle of the second round, Toussaint rocked Hicks with a right on the right eye, which caused swelling under the eye seconds later. He continues fouling with no warning from Referee Gonzalez. In the third round, referee Gonzalez warned Toussaint for using his head in the final minute of another winning round for Toussaint.

In the fourth round’s final minute, Hicks finally landed a combination to Toussaint’s chin. Half a minute later Toussaint rocked Hicks with a right on the chin. In the fifth round, Hicks finally won a round, landing Toussaint for the most part, and again in the sixth, as Toussaint had slowed his offense.

From the seventh through the ninth, neither had an edge. In the tenth and final round, Toussaint landed several lead lefts after turning southpaw, taking the final round in a close fight.

Scores after a long delay were 95-95, 97-93, and 96-94.

In the co-feature, WBC and WBA World super middleweight champion Franchon ‘The Heavy Hitting Diva’ Crews Dezurn (10-2, 2 KOs) won a highly disputed and sloppy 10-round majority decision over Olympian Citlalli ‘Belltrix’ Ortiz (4-2, 1 KOs), with the fans booing the decision for good reason.

In the first two rounds, the margin was larger. Dezurn had her hands full with the more accurate Ortiz. In the third round’s final minute, Dezurn took both Ortiz and her to the canvas out of frustration.

In the sixth through the eighth rounds, Dezurn continued trying to bully Ortiz, wrestling with her, but Ortiz’s hand speed was too much for her.

In the ninth round Dezurn landed her best punch of the fight a right on the chin of Ortiz. Referee Charley Fitch finally warned Dezurn for continuous holding. In the tenth and final round the sloppiness continued due to Dezurn’s wrestling tactics. Ortiz won another round.

Scores 95-95, 96-94, and 98-92.

Super Light Bryce Mills (19-1, 7 KOs), of Liverpool, NY, stopped Alan ‘The Allen King’ Aponte (12-3-1, 3 KOs) at 2:59 of the first of a scheduled eight rounds.

In the first round, it was close until the final minute when, out of a clinch, Mills landed a powerful right, dropping Aponte face-first on the canvas. He tried to rise but flopped again, causing referee Rick Gonzolez to call a halt.

Middleweight Da Velle Smith (12-0, 8 KOs) defeated Antonio Todd (17-13, 9 KOs) by an eight-round unanimous decision.

In the first four rounds, it was all Smith until the fifth when Todd bloodied his nose. The rest was close, with Smith having an edge.

The scores were 78-74, 77-75, and 77-75.

Super bantamweight Olympian southpaw Ashleyann ‘LaMaqina’ Lozada (2-0, 1 KOs) stopped Carmen Vargas (5-3-1) at 0:27 of the first round, scheduled 6×2 rounds.

In the first round, Lozada attacked Vargas with half a dozen punches, almost dropping her, following with a swarm of punches, having her defenseless, when referee Charley Fitch called a halt.

Heavy Pryce Taylor (8-0, 6 KOs), of Brooklyn, NY, stopped southpaw Ed ‘Tex Trismigistus’ Fountain (14-9, 7 KOs) at 0:36 of the fourth round.

After three close rounds, in the fourth round, Taylor was beating Fountain without return when Referee Charley Fitch came to his rescue.

The ring announcer was Chad Fishburne.
