With just hours remaining for BRAVE CF 87, the fighters had intense face-offs in Alkmaar, Netherlands, setting the stage for an exciting night of fights on Sunday, September 22.
The most intense moment of the face-offs was between Noach Blyden and Adrian Gralak ahead of their co-main event showdown. Both fighters refused to break eye contact, signalling what can be expected when the cage door closes on Sunday night. Gralak, in recent interviews, stated that Blyden does not belong in MMA due to his kickboxing background, while Blyden looks to prove his impressive first-round win at BRAVE CF 83 was no fluke.
For the main event, reigning Lightweight champion Abdisalam Uulu Kubanychbek and challenger Raul Tutarauli shared an intense yet respectful stare down ahead of their title fight. Kubanychbek aims to defend his title and break BRAVE CF’s Lightweight title curse, while Tutarauli seeks to become the first Georgian BRAVE CF champion, an achievement that his fellow countrymen Guram Kutateladze and Ilia Topuria could not achieve.
All other fighters on the card maintained respectful yet intense staredowns. Rasul Magomedov and Pablo Benaion, who will kick off the event in what will be the latest chapter of the Wrestling vs. BJJ rivalry in MMA, displayed mutual respect, embodying the values of the disciplines that they represent. Clyde Brunswijk and Madalin Pirvulescu also kept their exchange respectful, as did Nabil Haryouli and Zabiullah Mubarez, despite Haryouli missing weight for their Catchweight bout.
BRAVE CF 87, held in association with Enfusion’s ECE MMA, marks BRAVE Combat Federation’s second event in the Netherlands following BRAVE CF 83. The event will showcase top MMA talent from around the world and promises to be one of the biggest MMA events in Dutch history.
