Three-time WNBA champion and New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart gave fans a peek into her recent offseason activities through her Instagram Story on Friday.
Stewart reposted a story originally shared by her wife, retired Spanish professional basketball player Marta Xargay Casademont. The post featured an image of the popular board game, “Game of Life.”
Stewart and Xargay were married in July 2021. The couple has two children: Ruby Mae Stewart Xargay, born via surrogacy in August 2021, and Theo Josep Stewart Xargay, born in October 2023.
On Wednesday, Stewart shared a Christmas greeting from her family with her more than 460,000 Instagram followers.
“Merry Christmas from the Stewart Xargay family! Slide 1 vs 3: Instagram vs reality trying to get a family photo,” the caption read.
Stewart, 30, was the first pick in the 2016 WNBA draft, selected by the Seattle Storm. In addition to her three championships, she is a two-time WNBA MVP, two-time Finals MVP, six-time All-Star and a six-time member of the All-WNBA First Team.
Breanna Stewart shared Unrivaled League’s home
Unrivaled, a 3×3 professional women’s basketball league founded by Breanna Stewart and fellow WNBA star Napheesa Collier, will tip off its inaugural season in Miami, Florida, on Jan. 17.
In a short video posted on Unrivaled’s YouTube account on Dec. 4, Stewart provided a glimpse into the league’s new home in Miami while detailing plans for the player experience.
“We found our new home in Miami, and we’re thinking through every detail to make sure that the player experience is lit,” Stewart said. (1:24)
Without revealing many design details, Breanna Stewart walked viewers through the facility, highlighting areas for the main court, practice court, and weight room. She also made a bold claim about her performance in the league.
“And in this soundstage, we’ll have a practice court, a weight room, and obviously the main court where I’ll be averaging 40 points per game,” Stewart said. (1:50)
Unrivaled is composed of six teams, each featuring a star-studded roster and a high-profile coach. The list of players includes DiJonai Carrington, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, Kelsey Plum, Angel Reese, Jackie Young and more.
The league’s coaching lineup features WNBA legend and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Teresa Weatherspoon, as well as longtime NBA assistant coach and three-time NBA champion Phil Handy.
