LAS VEGAS — Josh Hokit left UFC 324 undefeated, but it wasn’t his late stoppage victory that dominated the post-event conversation. Hokit improved to 8-0 as a professional and 2-0 in the UFC after scoring a TKO over Denzel Freeman with just one second remaining in the opening round of their heavyweight bout at UFC 324.
A former NCAA Division I All-American wrestler and Fresno State football player, Hokit has shown promise inside the cage. Outside of it, however, his post-fight interview became one of the most talked-about moments of the night for the wrong reasons.
During his live, in-cage interview, Hokit launched into a prolonged, WWE-style promo filled with rhyming boasts, insults, and inflammatory remarks. The speech aired uninterrupted and quickly circulated across social media, overshadowing the actual result of the fight.
Among the comments that drew widespread criticism were personal attacks aimed at fellow heavyweight Waldo Cortes-Acosta, as well as a disparaging remark involving WNBA star Brittney Griner. The nature of the comments prompted immediate backlash and shifted attention away from Hokit’s performance in the octagon.
