Despite not getting much time on the NBA court, Bronny James has spent a fair bit of time with Luka Doncic since the trade and has shared what he’s learnt from the Slovenian superstar.
“Just his patience. Just being able to be unpredictable,” Bronny said. “I think that’s the thing I’ve watched most about him. You never know what he’s going to do. So I think that’s the best thing I’ve seen so far from him. He hasn’t been here for long so I just keep trying to pick up stuff from him.”
As for his Dad, he seems to be clicking super well with Luka on the court for the Lakers.
The full court pass is pretty much becoming their signature move and James had a perfect football analogy to describe that particular aspect of their beautiful new partnership.
“I’m a natural-born wide receiver, and he’s a natural-born quarterback, so it fits perfectly,” James said.
After the Lakers snapped the Nuggets nine-game winning streak, Head coach JJ Redick admitted he “pretty much [hasn’t] slept since we walked off the court in Portland”. But it clearly paid off.
“Spent a lot of time on this game, our staff spent a lot of time on this game. I envisioned our guys playing hard, they played harder than I could have envisioned. They battled tonight,” Redick said”Those are the two things that stood out.”
While Luka, Redick and LeBron were in Denver, Bronny was honing his skills in the G League and helped the South Bay Lakers to a win with a 24-point haul.
Bronny’s confidence with more reps in the G League has been helping him in the NBA. Before the All-Star break, he recorded a career-high nine points in eight minutes and took some impressive shots from three.
