Zak Brown dismisses talk of McLaren being favorites for the 2025 drivers’ and constructors’ titles as “arrogant”.
Despite Red Bull struggling this season, McLaren quietly improved and eventually won the constructors’ title for the first time since 1998.
While some predict McLaren as potential champions in 2025, Brown humbly states, “I think favourites would be arrogant… I see no reason why we can’t be one of the favourites.”
He praises the team’s aero guru, Pete Prodromou, for aiming to win both titles next year, acknowledging that other teams also have strong chances.
Unlike Red Bull, McLaren had two competitive drivers this season, collecting wins, podiums, and pole positions.
Brown applauds Lando and Oscar for their performances, noting their improvement on and off the track as they challenge for the championship.
However, the duo’s competitive spirit could create internal challenges, as Piastri also aims for success and may not settle for a supporting role like Barrichello or Bottas.
