The Antetokounmpo family is taking over Milwaukee once again.
The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Alex Antetokounmpo, the youngest of the five Antetokounmpo brothers, to a two-way contract, reuniting him with Giannis and Thanasis in what is now a truly historic roster move.
It marks the first time in NBA history that three brothers will suit up for the same team at the same time.
The 23-year-old went undrafted in 2021 and spent time with both the Raptors 905 and the Wisconsin Herd in the G League before returning overseas.
Last season, he averaged 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds in 14 games for PAOK in Greece.
While Alex is expected to spend most of this season with the Herd, his presence in Milwaukee is more than symbolic.
The Antetokounmpos are synonymous with family loyalty, and this reunion is another chapter in that story.
Thanasis, who has been with the Bucks for five seasons, missed all of last year after suffering a torn Achilles.
He re-signed this offseason on a one-year, $2.9 million deal, continuing his run alongside his brother Giannis.
Kostas Antetokounmpo, meanwhile, spent three seasons in the NBA and earned a championship ring with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 before heading back to Europe. The eldest brother, Francis, pursued professional soccer instead of basketball.
As for Giannis, the two-time MVP continues to anchor Milwaukee’s future. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game last season, picking up his ninth consecutive All-Star selection. Despite swirling trade rumors linking him to the New York Knicks, Giannis isn’t going anywhere…at least for now.
“There was a report that the Bucks engaged in trade talks about him with the New York Knicks recently, but Giannis shut that down and insisted that he wanted to be in Milwaukee for the time being,” Shams Charania reported.
