Bucs at Giants: Most Impressive In Week 12
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Bucs have not had a stellar month, with their last win dating back to October 13th. However, they were able to break the streak on Sunday against the 2-8 Giants, who had recently released their starting quarterback.

Tampa Bay dominated the game, securing a 30-7 victory that boosted team morale and showcased their impressive performance.

Bucs’ Opening Offensive Drive

The Bucs’ first drive of the game was noteworthy, with a 14-play, 70-yard drive that lasted 8:23 in the first quarter, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

The drive was sustained by crucial third-down conversions by Jalen McMillan and Rachaad White, as well as a fourth-and-1 run by Sean Tucker. Liam Coen utilized all three running backs effectively, including a 1-yard touchdown run by Tucker with center Robert Hainsey and defensive tackle Vita Vea blocking for the score.

The well-executed opening drive deserves recognition.

The Bucs faced off against the Giants, featuring a showdown between the NFL’s top rookie running backs, Bucky Irving and Tyrone Tracy Jr. While Tracy had outperformed Irving earlier in the season, it was Irving who stood out in Week 12.

Irving showcased his skills with six receptions for a career-high 64 receiving yards, including two crucial catches that set up scoring opportunities. His agility was evident in a 56-yard run in the fourth quarter, aided by Baker Mayfield’s blocking.

Irving’s ability to evade defenders and rack up 151 scrimmage yards highlighted his impact on the game, leading the rookie running backs with five rushing touchdowns.

With Mike Evans back in action, Baker Mayfield played confidently and efficiently against the Giants. He expertly distributed the ball to his targets and showcased his passing skills throughout the game.

Despite not throwing any touchdown passes, Mayfield made a significant impact with a remarkable 10-yard touchdown run and displayed excellent ball security. He rebounded from a lackluster performance in the previous game and led the offense effectively.

WR Mike Evans

Mike Evans had a significant impact on the game, setting up scoring opportunities and creating space for his teammates to shine.

His contributions, including a pivotal pass interference call drawn in the endzone, helped the offense reach new heights and put points on the board.

Unexpected Explosive Plays By Unexpected Players

With the return of Mike Evans, the offense saw a boost in explosive plays and passing opportunities.

The increased threat posed by Evans opened up passing lanes for other players, resulting in chunk plays and a dynamic offensive performance.

RG Cody Mauch And The Bucs’ Offensive Line

Despite missing key players, the Bucs’ offensive line stood strong against a formidable Giants defense. Cody Mauch’s standout performance was crucial in providing protection for Baker Mayfield and opening up running lanes for the backs.

The offensive line rose to the challenge, showcasing their skills and teamwork in a demanding matchup.

DT Calijah Kancey

Calijah Kancey continued his breakout performance with a strong showing against the Giants, showcasing his pass-rushing skills and contributing to the defensive effort with a sack and a fumble recovery.

DT Vita Vea

Vita Vea’s athleticism and versatility were on full display as he anchored the defensive line and made plays on both sides of the ball. His impact was felt throughout the game, leading the pass rush and disrupting the Giants’ offense.

Bucs Pass Rush

The Bucs’ pass rush was relentless, putting pressure on the Giants’ quarterback and disrupting their offensive rhythm. The front seven, led by standout performances from various players, managed to stifle the Giants’ offense and secure a dominant victory.
