On Saturday, the Bucs elevated two players from their practice squad to strengthen their defense for the week two matchup against the Detroit Lions. Defensive linemen C.J. Brewer and Mike Greene were both elevated for the second consecutive week due to injuries on the defensive side of the ball.
Defensive tackle Calijah Kancey is still out due to a calf injury for the second week in a row. Defensive end Logan Hall, who missed week one with a foot injury, is questionable for Sunday’s game despite being on the injury report all week. Greene and Brewer will provide backup in case Hall is unable to play on Sunday.
The Bucs are facing multiple injuries in their secondary. Free safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is sidelined with a foot injury, while cornerback Josh Hayes is dealing with an ankle issue. Bryce Hall, another cornerback, is on injured reserve due to a lower body injury. The team has signed cornerback Keenan Isaac to compensate for the loss. Isaac was part of the Bucs’ practice squad last year and this year’s training camp.
Cornerback Zyon McCollum is expected to return after clearing concussion protocol following an injury in the previous game, as reported by Jenna Laine of ESPN.
I’m told that Bucs starting cornerback Zyon McCollum has cleared the concussion protocol and can play tomorrow in Detroit.
