INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Butler defeated the Seton Hall Pirates 62-55 on Sunday afternoon in the Bulldogs regular season finale. Butler was led by Mallory Miller, who poured in 19 points in the contest. With the win, BU finishes the regular season at 12-18 overall and 6-14 in BIG EAST play while Seton Hall finishes 18-11 overall and 12-8 in league action.

Saniya Jackson paced the squad on the glass, pulling down eight rebounds in the contest.
Kennedy Langham led the offense with five assists.

SETON HALL HIGHLIGHTS

Jordana Codio scored a game-high 27 points on 12-for-22 shooting from the floor. Mariana Valenzuela rounded out the Pirates in double figures with 13 points.
Codio led SHU on the glass, pulling down nine rebounds in the game.
Shailyn Pinkney paced the Pirate offense, dishing out three assists.
Seton Hall shot 23-for-64 (35.9%) from the floor and shot 7-for-26 (26.9%) from beyond the arc.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Both sides traded buckets to open the game. Johnson scored eight of Butler’s first 10 points as the Bulldogs held the 10-9 lead at the halfway mark of the quarter. Neither side created much offense the rest of the quarter as Butler took the slim 12-11 lead into the second.
Butler started the second quarter going 6-for-8 from the field as the Bulldog lead stood at one (27-26), at the halfway mark of the period. Both sides had a scoring drought of over two minutes after the media timeout before Miller was able to get the Dawgs on the board with two free throw makes. An 8-2 run from the Dawgs to close the quarter gave Butler the 36-28 advantage heading into the break.
The Bulldogs opened the second half on a 6-0 run, forcing the Pirates to take a timeout as BU held a 12-point lead (42-30). Seton Hall was able to cut the deficit to six behind an 8-3 run, forcing BU to take a timeout. BU was unable to score a bucket over the final four minutes of the quarter as the lead shrank to four (47-43) heading into the fourth.
Both sides continued to go back and forth as Butler held the narrow 51-47 advantage with 6:20 remaining in the game. Butler was able to fend off Seton Hall’s comeback efforts down the stretch as BU secured the 62-55 victory at the final whistle.

UP NEXT
The Bulldogs have now concluded the regular season. Butler will travel to Uncansville, Connecticut, for the 2026 BIG EAST Tournament Presented by JEEP. More information about the BIG EAST Tournament will be made available on Butlersports.com.
