Four of the most popular names in the WNBA have joined an elite list of female athletes, which speaks volumes about their greatness and marketability as a whole. On Tuesday, Dec. 16, @overtimewbb uploaded a carousel post on Instagram, celebrating Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, Chicago Sky stalwart Angel Reese, New York Liberty sharpshooter Sabrina Ionescu, and Dallas Wings standout Paige Bueckers.

All four have made it into this year’s Forbes list of the highest-paid female athletes. From the WNBA and women’s basketball side, only Reese, Clark, Bueckers, and Ionescu made it, which is why several onlookers acknowledged them and spoke about how they deserve the opportunities they’ve been getting, evidenced by their rankings.

“Of course our girls had to make an appearance 🤩 @forbes,” @overtimewbb on Instagram captioned with an emoji.

Clark tops the list among the WNBA players, as she is placed just outside the top 10, at No. 11, with an annual salary of $12.1 million. Only $0.1 million comes from her actual league salary. She is closely followed by Ionescu, who is widely known for her signature shoe line with Nike. She reportedly earned $10 million this year, $0.5 million coming from the WNBA, which places her at No. 13 overall.

Reese comes next at No. 15, as she earned $9 million, $0.4 million coming from the league. It is presumed that she earned most of it through the release of her “Angel Reese 1” sneaker with Reebok, among other brand opportunities. What’s surprising is that Bueckers, who was in her rookie year, cracked the top 20 and came just after Reese at No. 16. She is deemed to have pocketed $9 million this 2025, with only $0.1 million of it coming from the WNBA.

Three-Time WNBA Champion A’ja Wilson Did Not Make The Forbes Top 20 Highest-Paid List

Perhaps what has surprised many fans and spectators is the fact that Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson did not make this year’s Forbes top 20 highest-paid female athletes list.

This is because, apart from leading coach Becky Hammon’s Aces to their third WNBA championship in the last four years in the recently concluded season, Wilson’s “A’One” signature shoe release with Nike was widely considered successful.
