Caitlin Clark was a phenom in the NCAA, leaving college as the top scorer in men’s or women’s college basketball history. She is now proving that she is a phenom at the professional level, too. Clark has become one of the first rookies named to the WNBA All-Star roster since 2014, and she is a favorite to land the Rookie of the Year award.

To go along with her elite play thus far, Clark has now made WNBA history by posting a ridiculous stat line that no other player has secured before her.
During Wednesday’s game between the Indiana Fever and Washington Mystics, Clark secured 29 points, 13 assists, five rebounds, five 3-pointers, five steals, and three blocks. Despite Clark posting such ridiculous numbers, the Fever fell to the Mystics with a final score of 89-84.
The Fever have seen an up-and-down season, initially struggling at the beginning of the season going 2-8 in their first 10 games. More recently, the team has rebounded in a big way, going 6-4 in their last 10 games.
Clark is currently averaging 16.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
Clark continues to make a case for ROTY honors, but she is also continuing to post numbers that place her among the most legendary WNBA players ever. She will need to continue showcasing this elite skillset to beat out her fiercest competition.
Clark has built up a rivalry with former NCAA foe, Angel Reese. Reese plays for the Chicago Sky and has also been making a claim to win ROTY. Reese became the first WNBA rookie this season to secure Player of the Week honors.

Though the consensus is that Clark is going to run away with ROTY, Reese is right behind her. The Sky rookie also secured her 14th consecutive double-doublesduring Wednesday’s matchup between the Sky and Atlanta Dream.
Reese tied WNBA legend Candace Parker at 12, which she secured between the 2009 and 2010 seasons. However, Reese surpassed that number with 13 on Tuesday. She now has 14 consecutive double-doubles and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Clark and Reese could become one of the biggest rivalries in basketball history, and both have been playing at a high level. It will be interesting to see who wins the coveted ROTY honor at the end of the season — but for now, all focus remains on the historic regular seasons both players are putting together.
