Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark played a key role in attracting a record-breaking crowd at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Monday night.
The Atlanta Dream decided to move their two games against the Fever from Gateway Center Arena to State Farm Arena to accommodate the large number of fans. The game on Monday night set a new attendance record for a WNBA game in Atlanta.
Mike Conti of 92.9 The Game reported that an impressive 17,608 people were in attendance for Monday night’s game. This highlights the impact of Clark and the Fever on the local fanbase, as well as the increasing popularity of the WNBA overall.
Despite a scary injury scare in the first quarter, Clark managed to return to the game and played in front of the largest WNBA crowd ever seen in Atlanta.
