The Caitlin Clark effect is still in full swing late in into the Indiana Fever star’s rookie season.
The 2024 WNBA No overall pick was again the catalyst for another attendance record being broken in Indiana’s 84-79 win over the Atlanta Dream on Monday.
17,608 fans packed the Atlanta Hawks’ Stat Farm arena – setting the bar for the highest attendance for a WNBA game in Georgia. The last record was held by the Dream and Fever’s previous matchup in the Peach State on June 24, which drew 17,575 fans.
Shattering attendance records has been a theme across the league when Clark and the Fever are in town.
Just days after setting the previous record for Atlanta, Clark drew 18,343 spectators in the Pacific Northwest against the Seattle Storm. She then brought 20,366 into the seats against the Las Vegas Aces on July 2 and 19,023 in Minnesota against the Lynx on August 24.

Clark posted 19 points and seven assists with seven rebounds, two steals, and a block
‘I feel like I’m just a kid that plays basketball and has a lot of fun,’ Clark said postgame. ‘And for me, like, coming into these arenas and these environments, I look around and it’s incredible. It really is.
‘I don’t show up and expect these crowds. Sure, maybe you’ve gotten a little bit used to it, but for me, that’s not anything that ever gets old. It really is something that’s really cool, especially as a young girl who grew up going to games. As a young girl, I would have come to a game in a building like this and seen this type of crowd, I think I would have been kind of in heaven.
‘It gives me a lot of joy to see the impact that I’ve been able to have, my teammates have been able to have, women’s basketball players all across the country have been able to have,’ she added.
Additionally, Clark had her 21st game in the league with at least 15 points and five assists. The former Iowa star posted 19 points and seven assists with seven rebounds, two steals, and a block to help Indiana capture the victory.
With the win, Indiana moves to 14-16 – placing them third in the Eastern Conference and seventh overall in league standings.
On the other hand, the Dream is 10-19, sitting fifth in the East and ninth overall.
