Former Iowa Women’s Basketball star Caitlin Clark has had a busy offseason. She was a prominent figure on the sidelines during the Big Ten Women’s Tournament, broke the internet with her off-season workout routine, and had her rookie card sell for a record amount.
After weeks of waiting, Clark appeared on the popular late-night Netflix talk show “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” with David Letterman on April 8.
Letterman interviewed Clark about multiple subjects, including her experience with a sports psychologist and where her competitive streak comes from.
In a clip from the show, Clark and Letterman are locked in a heated grape-shooting battle, and Clark talks trash to Letterman while he is shooting. Of course, Clark wins and lets Letterman know it.

Caitlin Clark doesn’t miss even when shooting grapes.

Clark attributes her competitiveness to growing up with two older brothers. She also noted her competitive nature is a part of her everyday life. She says it can be good and bad and most people just do not understand who she truly is.
One of the best parts of the episodes came after Letterman asked about a legendary story from her college days. He asked about a time she scrimmaged a men’s practice squad of all volunteers. She told David that she scored 22 points in two minutes. Letterman could not believe it.
After he surprisingly stated that she scored 22 points in two minutes, the crowd gave a standing ovation. Clark went on to say that she is never surprised when she hits a big shot, but after her fifth three-pointer in a row, even she was shocked.
After the episode streamed on Netlfix, a short clip of the scrimmage resurfaced. Kathryn Reynolds originally posted the clip while she was a player development coach at Iowa.

The resurfaced clip has exploded since the interview. Since the episode began streaming on Netflix, the clip has been viewed over a million times.
To no one’s surprise, Caitlin Clark is one of the most competitive athletes on the planet. Whether you are a men’s practice squad or David Letterman, Clark will drop buckets on you.
