Iowa Hawkeye basketball legend and Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark returned to the Des Moines metro on Friday during a break in the WNBA season. After delivering backpacks filled with school supplies to 350 Des Moines Public Schools students at an event at Des Moines North High School, she made a stop at 301 Craft & Rooftop, just south of MLK Parkway and downtown Des Moines.
The WNBA star was with her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, also a former University of Iowa basketball and baseball player who now works as a team assistant for the Indiana Pacers. The two stopped for photos with customers at the rooftop bar with a view of Principal Park.
Clark and McCaffery started dating in April 2023 and went Instagram official last year in August. The Fever are taking a month-long break as members of the WNBA compete for gold in women’s basketball during the Paris Summer Olympics.
Clark grew up in West Des Moines. She attended Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines.
