Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has rapidly become a basketball icon, inspiring many young girls with her journey from standout talent at Iowa to one of the WNBA’s top stars.
Speaking on a panel at the LPGA’s Women’s Leadership Summit, Clark discussed the importance of her platform and how she motivates the youth.
“The young girls at our games who are excited and emotional remind me of myself years ago, begging to attend sporting events and meet players who inspired me,” said Clark.
“I play not just for wins and points, but to bring joy to people and inspire young girls to pursue their dreams,” she added.
“That’s the reason that you play, it’s not because of the wins and the points you score. It’s the amount of joy that you can bring people and the young girls.”
