Caitlin Clark Makes Offer to WNBA Star Kate Martin

Caitlin Clark has become one of the biggest stars in the WNBA after just two seasons with the Indiana Fever. In her rookie season, she led the Fever to their first playoff appearance in eight years, breaking the single-season assists record along the way. But her second year was filled with injuries, only able to play in 13 games, watching Indiana advance to Game 5 of the semifinals without her.

Before joining the WNBA, Clark was breaking NCAA scoring records with the Iowa Hawkeyes while playing alongside current Golden State Valkyries guard Kate Martin. After two national championship losses, Clark went on to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft, while Martin went in the second round to the Las Vegas Aces. She later joined the Valkyries in the expansion draft.

After her first season with Golden State, Martin has picked up a new hobby, sports trading cards. On Tuesday, she hosted a box break on TikTok, opening a box of Panini Prizm cards from Clark’s rookie year. And sure enough, Martin pulled a Clark rookie card, gasping before she showed the camera her pull.

“Let’s go,” Martin said three times. “Caitlin Clark!”

Clark took notice of Martin’s card pull, offering a signature for her college teammate in the comments.

“I’ll sign it for you hun,” Clark wrote.

Clark has also become a record-breaker in the trading card world. During the 2025 season, one of her autographed rookie cards sold for $660,000, nearly doubling the previous record for a women’s sports card. This broke Clark’s previous record of $366,000, another rookie autograph. Martin can only hope her card nears that.
