Caitlin Clark has recently made history as the first rookie to achieve a triple-double in the WNBA, as reported by the Associated Press. This milestone was reached on July 6th when she led the Fever to a 83-78 victory over the New York Liberty.
Clark’s impressive records are not limited to her collegiate career. The 22-year-old point guard has made her mark in WNBA history by securing her first triple-double in her debut season. In a game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, she finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists, ending the team’s nine-game losing streak. Her near miss of the record came in a previous game against the Phoenix Mercury, where she showcased her skills early on in the match.
ESPN highlights Clark’s list of achievements, including being named the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year during her Senior year with the Iowa Hawkeyes. She broke records for most points scored in a single season in Division 1 women’s basketball history and became the first to reach 1,000 points in two seasons at the level.
