Caitlin Clark did not earn money when she first became famous. She earned respect first. Then, years later, the money followed. From a high school star to one of the biggest names in women’s basketball, her net worth grew step by step. Born in 2002, Clark became a household name through college basketball before entering the WNBA. Today, at age 23, most of her income comes from major brand deals, not her team salary. This timeline explains how her net worth grew from 2016 to 2026.

Caitlin Clark early basketball years (2016–2019)

Caitlin Clark played high school basketball at Dowling Catholic High School in Iowa. She started strong as a freshman and became one of the best players in the state. During these years, she did not earn any money from basketball. High school athletes were not allowed to get paid. Her net worth was close to zero. She was supported by her family and focused only on the game. These years built her skills and confidence.

Caitlin Clark college years and NIL growth (2020–2024)

Caitlin Clark joined the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2020 and her fame grew fast from then. In 2021, NCAA rules changed and allowed college players to earn money from name, image, and likeness deals. This changed everything.By the year 2023 and 2024, Caitlin Clark signed major NIL deals with brands like Nike, Gatorade, State Farm, Wilson, and Buick. According to confirmed reports from Forbes and On3, her NIL earnings crossed $3 million before she entered the WNBA Draft. She also became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I basketball, men or women. By the time she left college in 2024, her net worth was estimated near $4 million.

Caitlin Clark WNBA salary and endorsements (2024–2026)

Caitlin Clark was selected No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Her rookie salary was about $76,000, based on the WNBA rookie scale. Her salary increased slightly in the following seasons, but team pay was not her main income. In 2024, Nike signed her to an eight-year endorsement deal reported to be worth around $28 million, according to multiple US business outlets. Endorsements became her biggest income source. By late 2025 and early 2026, reliable estimates place her net worth between $15 million and $20 million, driven mostly by brand deals, not salary.
