The University of Iowa will always be a cherished place for Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark. While playing with the Hawkeyes, Clark led the team to back-to-back championships and became the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer (3,951 points).
Last month, the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year returned to the Carver-Hawkeye Arena as the school retired her No. 22 jersey into the rafters. Iowa is also where she met her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, who played for the men’s basketball team for six years under head coach Fran McCaffery, his father.

However, after 15 seasons as the Hawkeyes head coach, Iowa fired Fran McCaffery after finishing with 17-16 record and missing the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.

However, McCaffery’s father didn’t remain jobless for long. On March 27, the University of Pennsylvania, Fran McCaffery’s alma mater, confirmed reports that they hired him to be the head coach of the Quakers.
During his tenure playing with the Quakers, he led the Ivy League in assists (105) and steals (51) as a senior in 1981-82. After school officially announced Fran McCaffery as the new John R. Rockwell Head Coach of Men’s Basketball on Instagram, Clark gave the post a like.

McCaffery, who works an assistant coach for Butler’s men’s basketball team, liked the post, as well.

“I am excited and honored to return to my alma mater and the city of Philadelphia to lead the Penn men’s basketball program,” Fran McCaffery said in a statement. “It is a program that I have fond memories of from my previous time there as a student-athlete and assistant coach.”
While Clark’s boyfriend’s father prepares to relocate to the East Coast, she’s preparing to travel to Palm Beach, Florida, for the annual NFL owners meeting this weekend, Front Office Sports reported.
