Caitlin Clark Reacts to Fever Teammate’s Major News After WNBA Season

The WNBA season ended weeks ago, but off-court developments continue with the Indiana Fever. The team is anticipating the return of healthy Caitlin Clark next season, so they can make another run at the playoffs and potentially reach the WNBA Finals.

That will depend on whether or not they can also bring back other core members of the roster, including Sophie Cunningham, who suffered a season-ending injury. Her injury occurred after Clark became sidelined, and she’s been in recovery mode since then.

Cunningham became a sort of enforcer for Clark, gaining notoriety and publicity after she got payback for an opponent’s rough foul. It resulted in punishments for both Cunningham and the Connecticut Sun player she took down. However, it also brought Cunningham a newfound respect from fans and helped her gain a massive social media following.

Ahead of their potential reunion for the next WNBA season, they’ll reunite for another significant sports event. Clark, a Gainbridge ambassador, recently revealed her participation in the LGPA Tour’s Pro-Am event for The Annika at Pelican Golf Club.

While Clark is a full participant, her teammate will have a different role. A recent announcement revealed Cunningham is one of the guest caddies at the event. In addition, their Fever teammate, Lexie Hull, is a guest caddie.

Cunningham shared the big news on her official Instagram Story, simply using the word “FOUR!” to reveal her excitement about participating.

“yea clearly we have a lot to learn about golf…,” Clark wrote over the social media post when she reshared it, informing Cunningham, “It’s fore bud.”

During her recent “Show Me Something” podcast with West Wilson, Cunningham mentioned the funny golf term mix-up.

“I didn’t know. I knew I probably shoulda looked it up before I put it all on my social media,” Cunningham told her co-host, adding, “I don’t know s*** about golf.”

“I have no idea what I’m going to be doing. I don’t even know how I got invited,” she confessed.

This is Clark’s return to the event, formally known as The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, after participating last year. Golf star Annika Sorenstam is the host of the event, which features the world’s best women golfers, and all proceeds benefit the ANNIKA Foundation.

The big event featuring Clark, Cunningham, and Hull occurs next week. Clark, a Gainbridge ambassador, begins her participation on Wednesday, Nov. 12, during the event’s Pro-Am.
