Indiana Fever rookie point guard Caitlin Clark is gearing up for her debut in the WNBA All-Star game, sporting a special pair of player edition sneakers. During practice for the WNBA All-Star game, the Fever shared a close-up look at the special edition sneakers worn by Clark. The shoes feature a vibrant neon pink color with neon green Nike logos and accents.
Clark also displayed the shoes on her social media, tagging Vanessa Bryant to express her gratitude for the special edition Kobe Nikes.
Clark recently made headlines with a standout performance where she set the WNBA record for most assists in a single game. In a match against the Dallas Wings, the Fever emerged victorious with a final score of 101-93.
In that game, Clark delivered an impressive stat line of 24 points, six rebounds, and 19 assists, setting a new WNBA record for single-game assists. This surpassed the previous record of 18 assists held by five-time All-Star New York Liberty point guard Courtney Vandersloot.
Aside from her assist record, Clark achieved another remarkable feat this season by becoming the first WNBA player to achieve 29 points, 13 assists, five rebounds, five 3-pointers, five steals, and three blocks in a single game. She, along with “rival” Angel Reese, are the only two rookies voted into the All-Star game.
Both Reese and Clark are strong contenders for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award, with impressive performances throughout the season. As the season nears its end, the competition for the ROTY title intensifies, with Clark’s scoring and distributing abilities standing out alongside Reese’s impressive defensive skills.
Although considered rivals, Clark and Reese have put their differences aside to train together as teammates. They will represent the only two rookies on Team WNBA, sharing the court with established stars like DeWanna Bonner, Aliyah Boston, Kayla McBride, Nneka Ogwumike, and more.
The WNBA All-Star game is scheduled for July 20 at 8:30 p.m. EST, airing nationally on ABC. The All-Star Skills Competition, featuring a 3×3 Competition and the 3-Point Contest, will take place on July 19 at 9:30 p.m. EST.
Although invited to participate in the 3-Point Contest, Clark declined. Nevertheless, fans will have the chance to witness her skills in her first All-Star game.
